Trailer Review | Stranger Things 3

The world's favourite streaming show is finally on its way back to our screens.

Netflix has now started its promo campaign for Stranger Things 3, and I didn't realise how excited I was until I watched this trailer, because it's actually quite amazing.

First of all, I love the July 4 release date, just like Season 2 was released around Halloween. I prefer this, though, mostly because of the summertime nostalgia I will associate this season with in the future. I can't wait for this, and I know it's early to say but I have a gut instinct that this will be the best season so far.

This was also a reminder of how much I love this cast of characters, and I think this is what the trailer emphasises the most, since there is barely any discussion or indication of what the threat will be. What Stranger Things does so flawlessly is find that perfect balance between character development and story conflict, but I think most people can agree that if the plot development was to take a backseat - from an emotional standpoint - I don't think there would be many complaints. This trailer is full of ambiguity yet still feels laser-focussed on whatever it wants to achieve. It's jam-packed with so much footage to unravel and theorise over, but I think as a whole it should just be seen as a piece of art in its own right, the stunning visuals combined with the etherial, epic 80s score really makes for a chilling trailer which really elevates the potential and anticipation for this upcoming season.
I have a good feeling it's going to be something spectacular.
