Most Anticipated Blockbusters 2017

I cannot wait for this year in film. This list has only ten films, but I would just like to mention some significant honourable mentions; Justice League, The Dark Tower, Baywatch, Kong: Skull Island, Kingsman: The Golden Circle, Ghost In The Shell, Despicable Me 3 and Pixar's Coco.
#10: Thor: Ragnarok
I do not read comics, but all I know is that Ragnarok basically means the magical fantasy version of an apocalypse, so I cannot wait. If The Dark World had been significantly enjoyable and not just okay, this film would probably be higher in the rankings, but with Cate Blanchett, the Hulk and a new director, I think that Ragnarok is coming together very promisingly.

#9: Logan
The trailer for this film was absolutely mind-blowing and I feel as though what we have seen from this film so far is a perfect tone: it seems very gritty and I am completely sold. The idea of the film being called Logan and not The Wolverine 3 tells us that it is most likely going to be full of character development and will be an emotional journey for Logan. I cannot wait.

#8: Dunkirk
I don't need to explain this. Christopher Nolan and World War Two is a recipe for amazingness. From what we have seen, the cinematography is absolutely stunning and I am also looking forward to putting Harry Styles' acting ability to the test. I just cannot wait.

#7: Spider Man: Homecoming
3rd time lucky? Um, I think so. Tom Holland's performance of Peter Parker in Captain America: Civil War was one of the best things about that film, and I can't wait to see him lead his own. It looks hilarious and Marvel Studios has never done a movie set in a high school setting with a John Hughes -esque feel.

#6: Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2
2014's Guardians Of The Galaxy was so entertaining, and from the trailers and other promotional material I don't think that that is going to change for it's sequel. Chris Pratt is so easy to watch and even though he is surrounded by racoons and green people, he is never over-shadowed. From what I see, everything has been multiplied by 10 for this highly anticipated sequel. Also, two words; BABY GROOT.

#5: The Fate Of The Furious
The action is ridiculously huge and spectacular. The chemistry between Dom and his family is to die for. But why am I not as excited as I should be? Well, the answer to that is that they are trying something new and Fast & Furious fans don't want a shocking character driven story; we want explosions and fast cars and bad-ass-ness. And also, the title is awful. However, it made it to number 5 because it is a Fast & Furious film with a seemingly huge spectacle, and also, it is the first of a final trilogy.

#4: War For The Planet Of The Apes
The stakes have never been higher and I cannot wait to see how Caesar's story is going to conclude. I reflect on how Caesar's story began... the scale felt small, but to see it grow ever-so gradually is so satisfying and emotional to behold. It looks and feels absolutely spectacular. Just ugh. All the feels.

#3: Beauty & The Beast
We all know the story, so why are we all so excited? Um, the casting, the music, the absolutely BEAUTY-ful visuals and the fact that Disney is adapting their ultimate and most beloved animated movie of all time into a modern live action spectacle, for a new generation to witness and fall in love with. I have so much trust in Disney after 2015's Cinderella and 2016's The Jungle Book made such an impression on me and I am so happy that they injecting new life into their beloved classics.

#2: Wonder Woman
I cannot believe how much I am anticipating this film. It is an amalgamation of everything that I adore; epic battles, sweeping fantasy worlds, breathtaking landscapes, period pieces and a kick-ass heroine. Gal Gadot IS Wonder Woman. The scope seems so wide and epic and I just can't get enough of the footage we have been given. Ugh, six months to wait.

#1: Star Wars: Episode VIII
Um, duh. Do I even need to explain myself? To sum it up: Luke Skywalker, Rey's parents, 2 years waiting, Daisy frickin Ridley, lightsaber (if u get me), Kylo Ren, and simply the fact that it is Star Wars

So, there you have it! These are the blockbuster I am most looking forward to this year... I have a feeling this list is going to be very similar when ranking my top 10 of the year (or at least I hope).

You may have noticed that I mainly just cover blockbusters, but seeing as many films are gaining a lot of awards momentum such as La La Land, I will make sure to review that as soon as it is out in the UK seeing as I cannot wait to watch it, in addition with films such as Silence and Hacksaw Ridge.
